Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and the former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and pumped-up persona on the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares simple and easy to master cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications at Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I loved every minute of it." It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at Umbria. She also attended the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy and this has affected her cooking style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids with disabilities. As an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she's grateful to communicate with people what is essential for her.
